Work-life Balance & Why It Matters

I love this quote, and I love how self-care is getting more attention these days. While we are all about the hustle at Second Mile, it's also important to stress the importance of work-life balance. It's so easy to stretch yourself too thin these days, so here are some ways to take a step back and take a breather every now and then.
Take Time For Yourself. Decompressing and having some alone time is so important! Whether you are an introvert or an extrovert, everyone needs some time by themselves to de-stress. Read a book, take a nap, or whatever you like, just be sure to give yourself and your brain a timeout when you need one.
Manage Your Time & Work. If you're looking at this post and thinking, "how am I even going to find the time to relax?!" then this section should help. You can free up a lot of your time by managing your time more effectively and efficiently. Plan out your days and stick to the times you say you are going to leave the office or accomplish a set goal. Focus on what is necessary for the day and save the rest for another day. Don't try to tackle everything in one day! Staying organized and laying out your tasks and priorities will definitely help your time management skills.
Have A Social Life. All work and no play can make for a boring time and lead to a lot of stress. Make sure to schedule time with your friends and family and live a little! Go the movies or take a hike, whatever works for you! Life is way too short to not spend it with those you care about, so be sure to make some time for your favorite people.
