How To Get Motivated & Organized
Be positive. Shake off the negativity and try new habits that improve your general outlook. Whether that's taking a walk outside to clear your head or designing a rewards system, it doesn't really matter as long as it works for you! We procrastinate when we're in bad moods, and research shows happiness increases success and productivity. By focusing on the positive instead of the negative, you're more likely to start new projects and make bold moves.
Use a calendar. Whether you're keeping it old-school with a planner or using a Google calendar, be sure to write down goals and obligations and check/update it regularly. It's also helpful to make to-do lists in your calendar. You'll feel encouraged as you cross off items and see your progress. Maintaining an organized calendar helps to prepare early, so you don't feel as rushed or stressed and increase your productivity levels.
Set goals & clear deadlines. Have realistic expectations and set clear deadlines for yourself. It even helps to set early deadlines to give yourself some extra room if the project takes longer than expected. Also, share your goals with others. Being public about your goals gives you a sense of accountability.
Have inspirational reminders. Place motivational quotes around your home and workspaces. They can be sticky notes or an inspiring quote. Another helpful idea is to write down where you see yourself in five years, and stick that note in a visible place. But most importantly, stay excited and don't be afraid to be adventurous!
